Interfaith Book Discussion
Interfaith book discussion about finding sacred truths in, learning from, and admiring other faiths. Join us at Hanover Presbyterian for the adventure. Peace March and Rally
Gather at Georgetown Presbyterian Church with signs for peace. We will walk a few blocks to the Circle where our Rally will take place. Music, speakers and prayers for peace. We will also be dedicating the 2020 Peace Pole which will be installed at Mt. Calvary AME Church in Seaford. In order to be respectful and keep everyone as safe as can be, all viral safety precautions will be an important part of this event, including the wearing of masks and appropriate distancing, as well as anything else recommended at the time by our Governor and his advisors. |

Food and Coat Giveaway and Celebrating S.U.N. 8th Anniversary
Safe United Neighborhoods, aka S. U. N., is a non profit organization with the mission to promote a clean and safe environment for the N. E. Community by providing youth activities, partnership with Wilmington Police Department and community walks; we also provide emergency relief for those in need and this food and coat giveaway is part of that effort. Housing Insecurity in Delaware
Nineteen million households in America, including about 30 percent of all renters pay more than half of their monthly income on housing. This is a key factor in what the government now refers to as “housing insecurity” — a condition in which a person or family’s living situation is tentative, or how close the family might be to homelessness. But what, exactly, does it mean to be “housing insecure? Speakers include University of Delaware Professor Dr. Ann Aviles, and Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. Housing Attorney Gilberte Pierre. Peace of Mind, Know Justice, Know Peace
This event will explore Community Mental Health addressed through youth voice and community conversations. The ‘Peace of Mind’ art mural by 7god will be displayed. Enjoy artwork from the People to People Youth Art Project created by middle school students from the Boys and Girls Club and inspired by the message ‘Know Justice, Know Peace’. Students explored themes of social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement. Listen to My Art: A Visionary Peace Virtual Art Exhibition
This exhibition gives adults in our community the opportunity to utilize artistic expression as not only a way to heal the heart, but to also visualize – then actualize – what peace looks like for our community.
