PROCLAMATION
IN OBSERVANCE OF PEACE WEEK DELAWARE
Whereas, a growing number of individuals and organizations have recognized the imperative, “If you want peace, work for justice;” and
Whereas, the many challenges that face Delawareans in the areas of economy, the environment, in education and
employment call for creative, nonviolent solutions; and
Whereas, it is important for individuals and organization to collaborate and expand the peace-promoting activities that they
pursue throughout the year by sharing their message in a week of special events.
Now, Therefore, We, John Carney, Governor,
and Bethany Hall-Long, Lieutenant Governor,
do hereby declare October 8th – 16th, 2022
PEACE WEEK
in the State of Delaware, and urge all citizens to recognize the essential role that Peace Week Delaware plays in encouraging a
culture of peace in our state.
