Awakened Heart Peace Week DE Kirtan Concert with Yvette Om
Join us at Awakened Heart for a Sunday Celebration of Life featuring a heart-filled morning of sacred sound and Kirtan Celebrated singer, author, and intuitive Yvette is passionate about awakening the hidden song within us all. Her style kirtan style (chant) is harmonic, bringing in all the colors of the chakras to dance with each other. Yvette has released five inspirational albums. Being a Force For Peace in a Fractured World
As part of the Delaware Peace Week celebration, join people across the state and learn how to be a force for peace. A force that extends in three directions: to others, to our opponents, and to ourselves. This event draws on insights from Valarie Kaur, a renowned Sikh activist, filmmaker, and civil rights lawyer. Reverend Dr. Larry Peers, the minister at First Unitarian Church of Wilmington has worked with organizations and their leaders across many faith traditions in change and conflict resolution. He was also a visiting professor at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace and taught Peacemaking and Religious Leadership. Disclosure Watch Party and Panel Discussion

While seated in a Circle of Peace, ancient principles and the peacebuilding theory of restorative justice will be reviewed as an alternative to the current justice system from the perspective of a former lawyer. Charito Calvachi-Mateyko, a professional in the field of restorative justice, assists you to perceive the challenges presented by the current punitive system by using inquiry, and invites the participants to consider a peaceful way to handle crime and conflict today.
