Help Native Plants Thrive in Talley Day Park
Join us for a rewarding morning of environmental action and community service on Saturday, October 14, as we work together to remove the invasive plants that threaten the existence of Talley Day Park’s native species. Leah Brooks, a certified Delaware Master and avid eco-gardener, will be on hand to help us identify the invaders and teach us about natives. We will meet at the Talley Dog Park at 10. Please bring gardening gloves and, if you have them, clippers to cut back the invasive intruders. Trash bags, water, and snacks will be provided. This is a family-friendly event, but it is rain or shine.

Rescuing our Gifted Humanity
Let’s rescue our humanity and stay with it by choice! Multimedia Event focused on awareness and conversation presenting people working for peace in our communities. All that to allow reflection, depth of feeling, and empathy for our fellow humans regardless of our differences. Immigrants and our Youth are part of our greatest opportunity to influence our own perception on how we are doing about our inherent humanity. There will be sharing of ideas on how we stick together and rescue our humanity, good values, fight the illusion that we are separate because we are not. Every action we take or not affects everyone as we get affected by other people’s actions. From people assisting immigrant communities, homelessness, working for equity and creating innovation in education, supporting local efforts adds to a mindset for peace, unity, and community development. All welcome, we will feature a musical video from a local artist reflecting back some important realities. There will be a little workshop at the end of how to be involved to create change at our own peace and with our own capacities. Let’s work together for peace. |
