Peace "Delaware Style" through Art and Poetry
The Sussex County League of Women Voters and the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Troop 665 have collaborated to memorialize Peace, Delaware Style, through artworks produced by the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Troop 665 and poetry written by residents of the writing community in Sussex County. The artwork and poetry will be on display in the Lewes Public Library from October 7 through 30, 2024. The display is open to the general public during regular Library hours. Our goal is to demonstrate and communicate thoughts and feelings of “Peace” via a collaborative and multigenerational community effort. |

Tours of New Castle Court House Museum
A guided tour of the court house at 1, 2 and 3 featuring an overview of Delaware’s European settlers, colonial settlements, statehood, Delaware’s laws and government and Delaware’s place in the development of the nation. This will include discussion about the trial of Thomas Garrett, an abolitionist for breaking the Fugitive Slave Law. |

Join us for our monthly art therapy workshop series, designed to help you unwind, de-stress, and find balance through guided art projects. Each session offers a new opportunity to explore therapeutic techniques all in the peaceful setting of your local library. Neurographic Art is a creative technique that combines art and psychology to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and problem-solving. Developed by Russian psychologist Pavel Piskarev in 2014, this method involves drawing lines and shapes to create intricate patterns, often resembling neural networks.
