Peace "Delaware Style" through Art and Poetry
The Sussex County League of Women Voters and the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Troop 665 have collaborated to memorialize Peace, Delaware Style, through artworks produced by the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Troop 665 and poetry written by residents of the writing community in Sussex County. The artwork and poetry will be on display in the Lewes Public Library from October 7 through 30, 2024. The display is open to the general public during regular Library hours. Our goal is to demonstrate and communicate thoughts and feelings of “Peace” via a collaborative and multigenerational community effort. |

Sovereignty in Undisturbable Peace
Dear Friends, I am so excited and honored for the opportunity to speak about the Sovereignty in Undisturbable Peace. Peace is often declared by an external source, but what does it really mean to us personally? To ground us in the present moment, I will begin with a meditation experience that will guide us into a peaceful, connected state. From there, I will lead us into a personal activity of soul writing to explore our own personal conceptions of Peace. This will lead us into my talk on the Practice of Undisturbable Peace in our daily lives. And, if time allows we can open the floor for sharing. With great Love and Gratitude, Anne Dushel Maring is a Karuna Reiki Master, NASM CPT/BCS, and owner of A.C.O.R.N. Fitness and Well-Being LLC. Her fundamental beliefs, foundation for teaching, and her energy practice rest upon 3 primary statements: I AM Sacred. I AM Divine. I AM Sovereign. Dedication of a Peace Pole
St. Martha’s Episcopal Church in Bethany Beach invites you and your friends to the 10:00 service at St. Martha’s Episcopal Church in Bethany Beach on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Please enter through the red doors at the corner of Pennsylvania and Maplewood. At the conclusion of the service, we will process outside where Reverend Victoria Pretti will dedicate and bless our newly installed Peace Pole. The Dedication will take place at the corner of Pennsylvania and Maplewood, weather permitting or inside in case of rain. The Dedication will be followed by a coffee hour in our parish hall. |

Circle of Sharing for Peace and Understanding
Participants are invited to use a traditional way of talking called Circle to share their wisdom after watching the video “A Palestinian and an Israeli, Face to Face” | Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon | TED. The Circle structure is rooted in Indigenous’ vision that considers every being as capable of creating wisdom while talking by engaging their whole being, mind, body, heart and spirit. Being with their beloved community while sitting facing one another, each participant’s humanity surfaces as a gift to those listening to inspire, heal and help to understand the issues at hand at a deeper level. Grounding practices will be experienced throughout the Circle of Sharing. Charito Calvachi-Mateyko, a Restorative Justice professional and Circle Keeper, will be the facilitator. |
